Scanners, Scanning, and Scanned images

My scanner is gone. That means that the pictures being posted are now limited by A) me not taking many due to school, B) No scanner so only really good ones being worth the cost of scans and C) me starting to feel the sting of shooting color film and having to pay to get it processed and not having mixed up chemicals yet for black and white. I did however get proofs with the last few rolls of film I shot, and I think there are some real keepers in there. Plus it was fun to get handed a handful of photographs before ever seeing the film, scanning it, squinting and staring at it on the screen, playing with cropping, harassing my girlfriend into taking a look at them, squinting more, thinking about the price of printing, and ultimately leaving them in digital-la-la land to never see physical paper.

In other news, I'm gaining an addiction to crossword puzzles...
