Scanners, Scanning, and Scanned images

My scanner is gone. That means that the pictures being posted are now limited by A) me not taking many due to school, B) No scanner so only really good ones being worth the cost of scans and C) me starting to feel the sting of shooting color film and having to pay to get it processed and not having mixed up chemicals yet for black and white. I did however get proofs with the last few rolls of film I shot, and I think there are some real keepers in there. Plus it was fun to get handed a handful of photographs before ever seeing the film, scanning it, squinting and staring at it on the screen, playing with cropping, harassing my girlfriend into taking a look at them, squinting more, thinking about the price of printing, and ultimately leaving them in digital-la-la land to never see physical paper.

In other news, I'm gaining an addiction to crossword puzzles...

More Railroading and more

A few images for your viewing pleasure. Here is one from the first night I shot with my fisheye. It was taken with some of the black and white shots of a bridge mid-demolition, but only just got developed recently. The rest are some more of the railroad the other night.

School School School School

I waited for the train for probably 45 minutes but it never came. I did some long exposures of the road though, some of which turned out looking pretty cool. School is in "full swing" meaning that if I'm not in class i'm feeling guilty and unmotivated because I should be doing something else. I'm still waiting on another roll to return from the developers, and I hope it has a few more keepers then this one.

A Thanks

For those of you who frequent my blog, or have just stopped in to check it out, I want to say thank you. School has started back up, and between work and classes and occasionally doing homework, I've not have much time to get out and shoot. I've also been having some issues with computers and the like, as well as trying to redesign a website or two, so I've just not gotten around to shooting, let alone scanning, any new pictures. I promise that shortly there will be more for your eyes to ponder, and thanks again for your interest.

The Final Rolls

The last two rolls have been scanned! I'm still lazy, and I'm still not cleaning up my scans. I did clean off the bed of my scanner, but apparently the dust and such is under the glass. I'm not sure I really find it worthwhile to do that. Most of the time, if there is one I want printed I'll have it professionally scanned because their scans look so much better anyways. Slides from Alaska

Well, I had intended to at least finish scanning the slide film from Alaska yesterday, but an unexpected turn of events found me instead sitting in the ER for a while waiting to find out nothing was wrong. Instead, they waited til today. I'm bummed because as school starts, I know I will take less photos, and as I scan more of these shots, I'm bummed because I feel like they didn't turn out like I wanted. But there are still some ones I love! So enjoy! Again, because of the number of them, many of them ended up on my flickr so check em out there!
